ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY
TOO BEAUTIFUL TO NOT CARE FOR!
Here at Paddle Queenstown, we care about the beautiful landscape we are fortunate to live, work and play in and that’s why we’re committed to running a business that cares about the environment. The locations we operate in are unique and beautiful and that’s why we conduct our business in a sustainable and mindful way to help protect the environment for generations to come.
Ways we care for the environment and operate sustainably include but are not limited to:
– Single-use cups or plastic bottles have been removed from operations, we instead use branded enamel mugs and large flasks of water.
– Annual locals day where all activities are just a gold coin donation and the donations go to local charities.
– Where possible all equipment is purchased from NZ suppliers and manufacturers. Equipment is looked after to an impeccable standard to minimise replacement requirements.
– We operate with the motto ‘take only photos, leave nothing but footprints (splashes) meaning nothing is left behind when we finish an experience or daily operations.
Paddle Queenstown proudly received a Qualmark Bronze Award and holds all the necessary Department of Conservation (DoC) and Queenstown Lakes District Council (QLDC) permits and consents for its operation.
